There are so many reasons we pick up a new novel. We love the suspense, the mystery, the love, or the struggle of the characters in the story. Perhaps the books we find ourselves the most immersed in are the ones which take us further from our repetitive rinse-and-repeat lives and transport us to a new place. It’s almost as if we embark on a miniature adventure every time we open the gently creased spine of a new book and begin traveling through its pages.

Think of the last book you just had to keep reading. What was it about the series which sucked you in so deep you became a part of the story? You know, that feeling you get when you are so transfixed in a book you don’t want to look up for fear of breaking the teleportation device which has kept you in the alternate reality created by the words on the page.

No doubt there’s a magical quality to every amazing book, a quality which allows us to find a new universe far from the one we know in our daily lives. As an author, I’ve tried to recreate this same feeling in Outside Ascension. I focused on crafting a universe filled with magic and mystery, a world which makes the reader feel as though they better understand the world in which we live. It provides each reader the sensation of time travel, universe exploration, or worldwide adventure without ever leaving the comfort of a favorite reading nook.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, then it’s time to ask yourself what is holding you back from traveling to your fantasy land? For many, there’s a chance someone else has imagined the same place. You can travel there through the crisp black ink of a new novel.
