If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Super strength? Would you be able to teleport? Would you fly? Would you become a magician?
It seems as though all of us have a superpower we would love to have, but hardly any of us ever pursue making it happen. The important thing about all of our hopes for superpowers is they can come true. A simple mindset shift is all it takes to make it happen. Two years ago I set my mind on flying, I got my private pilot’s license, and learned to fly. I have always wanted to teleport to new places, so my husband and I have enjoyed doing so from a cruise ship. I wanted to create magic, so I began writing a book series, beginning with Outside Ascension, which makes it part of the everyday.
There are a few key changes you must make to unleash your superpower.
First, change your mindset. You can accomplish anything as soon as you believe you can. It had taken many years before both time and finances came together for me to get my pilot’s license. I envisioned myself piloting a plane since I was a kid flying with my dad, and that visualization was the first step, which ultimately made all the difference.
Second, change your behavior. Because your mind is made up to unleash a superpower, you have to act on it to make it happen. For many of us, teleporting to new worlds can only happen if we start saving up for those trips. We can only gain super strength by going to the gym. Once you start changing your behavior while maintaining your new mindset, you will truly begin to start unleashing your superpower.
Lastly, stay consistent. Creating magic in your finished novel begins by writing first one word, then one paragraph, and finally one page at a time. Your super strength comes with days in the gym, jogging around the block with a friend, or riding your bike (after digging it out of the deep recesses of the garage). It takes many hours of learning and flying with an instructor to get your pilot’s license. At the end of the day, you must stay consistent with your mindset and behavior to unleash your superpower.
It is the New Year, and for all of us, it’s an opportunity for a new beginning. For some, it’s a symbol of transformation. We all hope to become a better version of ourselves and unleash our superpowers we know are deep inside. As JFK said, “for time and the world do not stand still. Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.”
Remember this new mindset as you move into the New Year. Maintain a spirit of optimism and eagerness to evolve. Little by little, make changes in your life. Most importantly, stay consistent, and you will be on track to unleash your superpower by year’s end.
